Metacil
84
C /184
C ceiling system comprises of 84 /184 mm
x 12.5 mm panels with 23.9 mm flange
roll formed out of metal coils. Panels
are fixed on to roll formed carriers 32
mm wide x 39 mm deep out of 0.9/0.7 mm
Aluminium or 0.5 mm galvanised steel
sheet with cutouts to hold the panels in
module of 100 / 200 mm at maximum 1.6 m
c/c without insulation and at maximum
1.5 m c/c with insulation. Carriers are
suspended from the roof or truss by 4 mm
dia. galvanized steel wire rod hanger
with special height adjustment
suspension clip at max. 1.3 m c/c.
Hangers are fixed to the roof by ‘J’
hooks and nylon inserts. Panels are
factory cut in lengths up to maximum 6 m
to suit site dimensions or shop
drawings. Edge profiles or wall angles
are 24 mm X 24 mm X 0.5 mm thick and
match the colour of the panel.
These
systems have several options for the
metal used in their construction, the
protective coating used on the surfaces
and the finish of the panels. These are
as follows:
Metal used for construction of
both panels and grid:
Aluminium -
Alloy AA5050, AA3105 or AA1050 is used
to make the panels and the grid. These
alloys are standard as per American
Society for Testing and Materials
(ASTM). For example, the standard for
Alloy AA5050 is given in the table
below. Thickness is 0.5 mm for panels
and 0.8/0.9 mm for grid.
Mild Steel -
Galvanised with 180 / 120 gsm Zinc
coating, 240 Mpa yield stress. Thickness
is 0.5 mm for panels and 0.6 mm for
grid. Panels can also be made from 0.45
mm thick sheets.
Protective coating used on the
surface of both panels and grid:
Uncoated -
Galvanised with 180 gsm Zinc coating,
240 Mpa yield stress.
Powder coated -
50 micron polyester after pretreatment.
Coil coated –
The surface is chromatised and stove
enameled on both sides in the
manufacturer’s standard colour shades.
The panels have coil coating finish on
the face. The top coat of the panel has
20 micron polyester coated finish and
back has a coat of 5 micron alkyd primer.
Finish of the panels:
·Plain
Perforated –
With holes of 2 mm dia. at 5 mm c/c.
(standard) staggered in uniform pattern
and symmetrically located in the middle
of the panel face. The panels have
non-woven tissue over the ceiling for
improved acoustics.
·Micro perforated – As above but
with holes of 1 mm dia |
